Prep

Welcome

We understand that you will want the best start for your child and that is precisely what we aim to provide.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Prep is an exciting and enthralling place to be.  During their formative years, our children are encouraged to develop a love of learning, both inside and outside the classroom, that will set them up for life. Whatever your child's talents and interests we will create the right foundations for their future successes.

We aim to stimulate curiosity and expand horizons, guiding children towards a huge range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities that will enable them to grow as fully-rounded individuals into happy, confident and caring members of society as they embark on future endeavours.

Many of our parents require wrap-around care. We provide a positive and nurturing environment to suit pupils' needs at the beginning and at the end of the School day. Details can be found on the Fees Page.

Why not come and see us in action and discover the difference for yourself at this most remarkable place?  You could visit us during one of our regular Open Mornings held throughout the year or simply during the course of a normal day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our School.

National Poetry Day 2019

NULS Prep truly got into the spirit of things this year for National Poetry Day 2019.

Mr Erian held an assembly, especially, whereby Prep pupils, including Nursery and Reception, performed their preprepared poems. Mr Erian even performed his own poem to the children, that he had thought up whilst setting up for assembly.

This year's theme was 'Truth'. All the children had thought long and hard about what 'Truth' means to them and chosen or written their poetry to suit. Impressively, there were references to lots of famous people including Bob Dylan and Greta Thunberg with topics including politics and climate change.

Whilst assembly was underway, Mrs Sissons prepared the library so that children had the opportunity to read poetry at lunchtime, for the chance to win house points.

Participation in days such as National Poetry Day is an important part of our literacy offering here at Newcastle-under-Lyme School and provides children with the opportunity to learn about new pieces of literature, writing, do lots of reading and also gives them the chance to practice their performance and public speaking skills.
