David is a former pupil of the School, and his daughter also previously attended. He is a graduate of the University of Kent at Canterbury and was a West Midlands Police Officer for thirty years holding the position of Detective Inspector.

 

For eight years he specialised in child protection and safeguarding work and was vice-chair of NE Forum of the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board.

 

David now works in education at an academy in Stoke-on-Trent, where his role involves the welfare, attainment, behaviour, attendance and safeguarding of the children.

Kath is a former pupil of the Orme Girls’ School, a past president of the Old Girls’ Society, current President of the Castilians, and the parent of three former pupils. She graduated from UMIST with a degree in Mathematics and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

 

Kath has recently retired from PM Training, Project Management (Staffordshire) as Head of Contracts after 35 years with the Company. PM Training delivers work based learning to candidates aged from 14 in a wide range of vocational skills.

Lorraine qualified as a Registered Nurse (Adult) in 1980 and as a Registered Midwife in 1982 at the Royal Stoke Hospital, UHNM NHS Trust.

She has extensive knowledge and experience of working in the NHS both as a nurse and a midwife, including oncology, intensive care, aeromedical repatriation, operating theatres, labour ward, ante-natal and post-natal wards, contraception and sexual health and also in the community.

 

Lorraine successfully completed her MA in Medical Ethics at Keele University in 1997.

 

In 1999-2001, Lorraine was a project Manager; Recruitment Retention, Return to Practice, West Midlands North, Workforce Development Confederation, Department of Health, working across the seven NHS Trusts in Staffordshire, Keele and Staffordshire Universities. She was a member of the Department of Health Regional Board Committee.

 

Since 2002, she has and continues to work at Keele University, School of Medicine as a Communications and Clinical Skills Teacher. She interviews applicants to the medical school, is a professional development tutor and examiner in the OSCE examinations. Lorraine was awarded Keele Clinical Teacher of the Year 2018-2019 nominated by Keele University Medical Students.

 

She completed her PGCME in 2005 at Keele University. She continues to be employed by the UHNM and works one day a week clinically. She is a member of the UHNM ethics committee.

Robin is originally from Norfolk, where he worked as a Community Sports Coach for Tennis and later on took on the management of the Community Sports Centre at a local Sports College.

 

He started in Pastoral Care as a Year Office Deputy, then moved to a House Leader, when in January 2015 was seconded onto the Senior Leadership Team at a Sports College in Derby before undertaking a role as Assistant Vice Principal at an Alternative Provision Free School; a school for both permanently excluded and students at risk of permanent exclusion.

 

Robin then moved in education to an academy in Stoke-on-Trent, where his role involved the welfare, attainment, behaviour, attendance and safeguarding of the children. In addition, he managed the Duke of Edinburgh programme for the United Endeavour Trust.

Business Committee

David is a Classics graduate from St. John’s College, Cambridge and is Headmaster of Hill House School, Doncaster. He is a member of the Society of Heads and sits on both the Society’s Main Committee and its Futures Committee, which briefs the Society and the Independent School’s Council on forthcoming educational change and challenge.

 

David also serves as an ISI Inspector, and is a member of the board of a Multi Academy Trust which currently constitutes six primary schools in South Yorkshire.

 

David is a firm believer in, and advocate of, the importance of a high quality all-round education, and the necessity for excellent relationships between independent schools and the wider community.

Marie graduated from Liverpool University in 1985 with an Honours degree in Physics. She has 33 years experience teaching Physics in girls, co-educational and boys schools. In her last post as Deputy Head, Marie was responsible for Pastoral Care, Safeguarding and Inspection Preparation.

 

Keen to develop a strong Independent Schools’ link with the Shropshire Safeguarding Children Board, she became the Independent Schools’ representative on the Children Missing Education Board and subsequently, she represented Shropshire Independent Schools on the Shropshire Schools’ Safeguarding Board. Marie has recently retired from teaching.

Andy is a Senior Managing Director and COO for Accenture’s Global Operations business. In his role, he is responsible for executing the business strategy and driving operational performance across a global team of 150,000 professionals in more than 50 countries. Andy joined Accenture from University and during his career has previously held a number of other senior P&L, operations management, client delivery and commercial leadership roles.

 

Andy is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (global organisation for the young CEOs and Entrepreneurs) and a patron of the London Science Museum and Royal Television Society.

 

Andy studied Mechanical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University graduating with 1st Class Honours and awarded the Watt Club Medal for Outstanding Merit and Distinction.

 

Andy is married to Jo and has a son and a daughter both of whom study at the School.

Graham is the Managing Director of a legal business based in Manchester and London which services the insurance businesses of, and is ultimately owned by, Markel Corp. He also sits on the UK national markets executive of Markel International Insurance company.

 

He was previously managing partner of a Staffordshire law firm and practiced as a solicitor in the area for 28 years specialising in commercial litigation.

 

Graham is married and has a son at the School.

Anna is Acting Principal at Excel Academy in Stoke-on-Trent. A graduate of Leeds University in English Language and English Literature, Anna is an experienced school Senior Leader. Having previously been an Assistant Principal in Sefton, Anna moved to take up a position as Assistant Principal at Excel Academy in 2016 before being promoted to Vice Principal at the same school, which is part of the Alpha Academies group. Anna is now Acting Principal at Excel having been promoted in September 2022.
