Many of our pupils are dropped off to school by parents, walk or take public transport. We also have an extensive mini-bus network bringing pupils to school from across the county and wider local area.
We use email for regular communication about day to day school matters. Information is also available via bespoke apps (such as SIMS) through our parent dashboard. Prospective parents can also sign up to review information from us about upcoming school events.
Parents can contact us by telephone or by email. We will always aim to respond quickly to enquiries. Our reception desks are staffed throughout the school day and outside of term time.
There are a host of co-curricular activities at all stages of the school, with Sport, Music and Drama as key elements for many of our pupils. We have an active CCF contingent, in-house DofE programme and much, much more.
Every child is looked after by our dedicated team of teaching and support staff. All parents will have a named teacher who will lead on the pastoral care of their child. Usually, this will be a child’s form tutor, supported by our Pastoral leads and Year heads.
We take applications at all points during the year. You can submit your registration form from the admissions page of our site or by contacting our registrar directly.

We are proud to offer a range of bursaries and scholarships designed to recognise talent and widen access to Newcastle-under-Lyme School at Senior School and Sixth Form level.
Scholarships
Scholarships are a highly prestigious award at Newcastle-under-Lyme School and presented to students demonstrating excellent current commitment and exceptional further potential.
Scholarships are not means tested and typically, the value of a Scholarship or Exhibition may vary from an honorary (or titular) award or have financial aspects included which entitles the holder to a reduction in NUL’s School fee (of up to £2,000 per academic year).
Our full range of Scholarships offered to entrants to Senior School and Sixth Form are: Academic, Art and Design, Music, Performing Arts & Drama and Sport and reflect the range of talents we encounter in the pupils that choose to study with us.
Bursaries
A number of Bursaries are available for pupils applying for entry to the Senior School. Bursaries are means tested and offer assistance with School Fees (dependent upon parental income).
Our Bursaries are reviewed annually and the value of a bursary is dependent upon the individual circumstances of the family applying for a bursary, awarded at the Headmaster’s discretion.
