We are delighted that for the first time in several years, we have welcomed pupils back to Ekka’s Wood, to take part in a field day as part of Prep Adventures, our bespoke outdoor pursuits programme.
Ekka’s Wood, located 20 minutes from NULS, was bequeathed to the NULS Scout Troop by a former staff member and has been restored for use including the introduction of a brand new low ropes course.
In May, Year 3 ventured to Ekka’s for a Prep Adventures field day where they took part in activities such as fire lighting, bushcraft and the low ropes course.
Prep Adventures is a bespoke in-house programme of outdoor pursuits, led by NULS’ resident industry experts, and is a journey of discovery across the Prep school from Little NULS Nursery to Year 6, where pupils will take on activities and challenges across the three key elements of the programme; land, water and air.
Utilising the incredible expertise and resourcing available at NULS, the programme will enable our Prep pupils to take part in activities such as archery, orienteering, hiking, canoeing, open water swimming, zip lining and much more, providing them with the perfect foundation with which to pursue programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and CCF at later stages in their education.
