We were delighted to welcome such large and supportive audiences to our Year 5 and 6’s production of Finding Nemo!
Finding Nemo tells the story of a meek clownfish Marlin, who after losing his son Nemo in the Great Barrier Reed enlists the help of a forgetful fish, Dory and embarks on an adventure through the ocean to bring Nemo back home. With themes of the importance of family and trust, Finding Nemo has been the perfect production for our pupils to get their fins stuck into!
Finding Nemo has only recently been made available for schools to perform and therefore, we were incredibly excited that NULS was one of the first schools in the country to perform the Disney Pixar musical. Since September, our pupils have been rehearsing songs, dances and scripted scenes and they have shown a huge amount of commitment, resilience and teamwork to bring their performance to life.
Our audiences were transported to the Great Barrier Reef through the amazing scenery and decoration of the Margaret Powell Theatre, our dedicated space for music and drama at the Prep School. The layout of the seating was changed for this production to create the illusion of under the sea, demonstrating the versatility of our performance space.
Many of our Prep pupils take part in dance, singing and drama both in and outside of school life and it has been a pleasure to see how committed the children are. Whether Finding Nemo has been their first experience of a show, or they have a lot of experience, we are all incredibly proud of their performances.
A huge thank you to Mrs Van der Linden, Mrs Hughes and Mrs Grecian for all of their efforts in producing such a wonderful production for our Year 5 and 6 pupils.
