Wellbeing is a key aspect of all young people’s lives and we know that a happy young person will thrive in all areas of life. In school we have a trained pastoral team, with Mr Bousfield and Mrs Simms fully trained as Mental Health First Aiders.
Following feedback from a recent pupil survey, we are incredibly proud to announce that a new Wellbeing Room is now open and available to our pupils. Located in the Stinton Building, the recently refurbished room is an oasis of calm and is open to pupils throughout the school day for mindfulness or to receive pastoral support.
Using additional pupil survey feedback, Sixth Formers have been recruited to act as peer mentors in the Wellbeing Room. Following the completion of a four week training course, our Sixth Form mentors will be available in our Wellbeing Room to support pupils who may need their guidance during lunchtime sessions.
To further enhance our provision and to ensure that pupils and parents can access resources and guidance any time of the day – including when they are away from the school -we have provided all pupils and their parents have access to the wonderfully resourced “Teen Tips” at The Wellbeing Hub website.
When our pupils feel their best, they can achieve their best,
