Empowering Pupils for Life Beyond the Classroom
At Newcastle-under-Lyme School, we believe that happy children are successful children. We Thrive ensures NULS’ culture is kind, supportive and consistently celebrates our pupils’ individuality and diversity.
Pastoral support is a key area of school life and is woven into the very fabric of our school culture. With a whole school approach, we prioritise the emotional and social development of every pupil and our We Thrive initiative provides dedicated time to focus on student wellbeing, leadership and the power of student voice. By commemorating key global dates and fostering a culture of inclusivity, we equip our pupils with the vital life skills needed to become valued and contributing members of modern society.
We believe that the strongest support network for a child is built on a partnership between school and home. Each term, we share our We Thrive Newsletter with parents and guardians, designed to empower families to engage with our wellbeing programme, sparking important conversations and ensuring our young people feel supported both in and out of the classroom.
