Student Diplomats debate International Issues
Over the weekend an enthusiastic team of students represented Iran and Canada at the 2018 Model United Nations (MUN) conference at Stockport Grammar School.
In an MUN simulation, students take on the role of diplomats representing state and non-state actors whereby they debate political issues with the aim of producing a resolution agreed by the entire committee/assembly.
During the conference, issues as diverse as capital punishment, colonies on Mars and foreign military intervention were debated at length throughout the weekend.
We were extremely proud to win two awards at the end of the weekend. Highly Commended Delegate was awarded to Eleanor Burnham and Outstanding Delegate for James Cheffins. Considering this was the first MUN experience for many of the students they should be proud of their input and achievements over the weekend.
