Senior Citizens Tea Party
During the penultimate week of the Autumn term the Memorial Hall was transformed into a Christmas Charity jamboree for our annual Senior Citizens Tea party. Local community groups from St. Pauls Church, Chesterton Lodge and many more came together for an afternoon of Christmas cheer.
The event was full of festivities including a game of bingo with our very own Mr Jowitt acting up as 'bingo-caller', musical numbers from our Big Band featuring pieces from the recent whole school production 'Me and My Girl' as well as traditional Christmas carols led by Anna Lamplough. As always, Mrs Machin and her team of students put on a festive spread for the 97 attendees who came along this year, a record turnout.
Charity and community plays an integral role in the life of the School with a dedicated charity committee who run fundraising events throughout the year. Headmaster, Michael Getty, commented on how the students' "kindness and genuine desire to support and entertain our elderly guests would make their parents feel very proud."
