Congratulations to our Year 8 and 9 Boy’s Hockey teams that played fantastically on European soil as part of this summer’s Hockey trip!
After a tiring coach journey, the team stopped off in Belgium to play their first fixture. Straight off the coach and into their match, our boys drew 1-1 against HC Gent – a magnificent effort given the blistering heat.
After a restful night, the boys had a pro coaching session this morning at Oranje Rood Hockey Club – a professional field hockey club based in Eindhoven, North Brabant.
Following this, both our Year 8 and 9 teams played competitive fixtures vs HC Mierlo with both teams victorious. Our Year 8 team won 3-1 with our Year 9 team achieving a convincing 5-0 results. A mighty effort from both teams, well done! Our teams then travelled to Monchengladbach to watch the Euro Hockey Final between Germany vs Netherlands, where they watched the Netherlands win 4-1 in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1 in regular time.
Our boys are unbeaten following their matches against local Dutch and Belgium teams, took part in 2 training sessions, the Euro Hockey Finals and then finished off with a pancake cruise! Our teams had a fantastic time on the Netherlands Hockey tour and did our Sports department and NULS very proud.
