At NULS, musical talent is nurtured from the moment a child joins the Prep School. By combining the talents of our dedicated Prep specialists with the expertise of our Peripatetic music teachers, we provide an extensive breadth of tuition.

Whether a child is just picking up an instrument or finding their voice, the opportunities are endless. Pupils have a dedicated music room in Prep, as well as access to our Music School, allowing them to practice and perform in the same professional-grade spaces as our older students, ensuring that their musical ambitions are supported at every turn.

Co-curricular Music

Music forms a major part of the co-curricular programme here at NULS. In Prep, there are many opportunities for children to join our choir, orchestra and the array of music clubs within our weekly schedule.

In addition to this, many of our pupils also take regular lessons with peripatetic music tutors, co-ordinated by our director of Music. Pupils are able to take lessons in all orchestral instruments plus piano, saxophone, guitar, drums and singing. These lessons allow our pupils access to the highest levels of qualifications with pupils regularly reaching Grade 8 and diploma level.

Performance Opportunities

At NULS Prep, music is woven into the very fabric of school life. Our pupils build lasting confidence through a vibrant performance calendar, ranging from intimate Teatime Concerts and spirited House Music to School Productions and Prize Giving.

Additionally, with regular opportunities to perform in weekly assemblies, pupils don’t just learn music—they live it, fostering a lifelong passion and refining their skills at every turn.
