This is a superb opportunity for an able and inspirational teacher to assume responsibility for a key department in a leading HMC School. This role will suit a candidate who is highly motivated and committed to taking a highly regarded department to the next stage of its evolution. Performance learning and enjoyment are key and enabling pupils to realise their potential and maximise their outcomes.
NULS was founded c.1602 and its academic calibre is renowned in the area. In 2020, NULS’ exceptional results of 74% Grade 7-9 at GCSE with 37% Grade 9, and 89% A*-B at Advanced Level with 68% A*-A not only led in Staffordshire but built upon the standards that have acquired the school a Top 50 ranking at GCSE. NULS holds the highest ratings possible under full ISI Education Quality Inspection, undertaken in March 2020. Our 30 acre site enables the school to benefit from impressive facilities for teaching, learning and extracurricular provision across our Prep and Senior sites. The school has embarked on an ambitious development programme, ‘NULS 2025’, to build on its academic strengths and wishes to appoint a new Head of History who is keen to work with similar ambition in this key curriculum area. The new Head of History may be an experienced current Head of Department or an aspiring and gifted Teacher ready to assume departmental responsibility.
