Students at Newcastle-under-Lyme School are celebrating today after receiving excellent GCSE results, following closely on the School’s record challenging A-Level results of last week!
The leading independent school saw its results once again hit the highest of levels with a very pleased Headmaster Michael Getty commenting: “The students deserve so much credit. Some of the percentages involved are genuinely outstanding, with five pupils receiving a clean sweep of straight 9 grades alone and nearly 60% of all exams being at the much-prized grade 7-9 level. These grades are a wonderful reward for their perseverance and hard work, and which they have achieved whilst balancing enormously rich extra-curricular involvement. We are very, very proud of them!”
A delighted Mr Getty continued, “What is incredible, is the hugely impressive grades they have achieved are right across the board. In Science we have subjects like Physics achieving 71% grades 7-9, in History and English the pupils scored 75% grade 7-9, in Fine Art it was 78%, and Religious Studies it was 82% grades 7-9, and that isn’t even mentioning the 100% grade 7-9s the pupils achieved in Drama and Latin!”
“Each of our pupils are unique with their own talents and interests, and it is essential that they feel they can access such grades no matter what the subject or discipline. They are now set for very bright futures and Sixth Form study – but today is certainly a day for them to celebrate!”
