Drama at NULS Prep

Drama performances at NULS are a real highlight of School life and performances take place in our own theatre equipped with full, state-of-the-art lighting and sound.

Drama for children at NULS inspires creativity by bridging the gap between imagination, make-believe, and theatre. Pupils explore the fundamentals of production, including props, role-play, character development, storytelling, and stage design, bringing their ideas to life in engaging and dynamic ways.

Performance Opportunities

Performances are a real highlight of life at NULS Prep School and our pupils have a range of opportunities throughout the year to perform to their parents, classmates and wider school community.

Performances take place our new state-of-the-art Theatre, equipped with lighting and sound.

Prep pupils have the chance to perform in school nativities, in assemblies and in the annual drama productions.

A Programme of Outstanding Productions

Performed in the Margaret Powell Theatre, Years 3 and 4 recently captivated audiences with the much-loved classic, The Wizard of Oz, complete with sing-along tunes and toe-tapping choreography. The performance showcased the passion and enthusiasm of our prep school students, many of whom spent weeks learning their lines and rehearsing diligently.

This year, our Year 3-4 pupils will be performing Wind in the Willows and our Year 5-6 pupils will be performing Finding Nemo!

Previously, our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils brought the famous fairytale Peter Pan to life with wonderful singing, dancing and acting, performed in the round in front of an audience. Other previous shows have included The Jungle Book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.

LAMDA Tuition

Children are also offered additional LAMDA tuition with our resident specialist teachers, providing them with the chance to develop their speech and drama skills. This tuition allows pupils to take exams set by the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Many excel in these examinations, achieving exceptional results ranging from Merit to Distinction across Grades 1-8.
