Beginning the adventure at Little NULS is more than experiencing excellent Early Years Education; it is a place where children are deeply cared for, their development supported in a home from home environment and every day is enhanced with rich and varied opportunities to experience more.
In our newly developed innovative Nursery spaces, Little NULS welcomes children from 2-4 years old all year round, provides the highest quality of care and supports their all important next step with us into formal education. As part of a 2-18 school which is known for county leading academic results, successful sporting prowess and incredibly talented performers, you will feel confident about the investment you are making in their future.
We provide an environment that is age appropriate, full of fun, laughter, adventure and curiosity; 2,3 and 4 year olds are not built to sit still! Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. Our children are our curriculum. When our children leave Little NULS, we would like them to have learnt to be kind, show respect, be resilient, independent and curious as well as showing aspiration and endeavour.
At Little NULS the children guide us in how we support them to grow and blossom into the best versions of themselves. Close relationships are key and we work hard with the children and families to establish close meaningful relationships, this in turn means we are able to extend the child’s interests and learning opportunities.
Learning
At Little NULS, we place extremely high value on child-led learning and providing developmentally appropriate experiences. This means that each child has autonomy and choice over their learning – research shows that when children are engaged in something that fascinates them and makes them happy, their brain activity is at its highest. This is when meaningful learning takes place.
Our approach to educating our children is through play and role modelling. We encourage creativity by being imaginative with natural, open-ended resources. During this cooperative play, our staff are actively spotting teaching moments and learning opportunities, supporting and encouraging our pupils every step of the way. Our approach helps to fire imagination and curiosity, as well as helping children to develop their ability to think for themselves, explore their environment, make their own choices and be the masters of their own learning.
