Students at Newcastle-under-Lyme School were celebrating exceptional A-Levels as top grades climbed to new heights eclipsing previous records at NULS!
Headmaster, Michael Getty, was thrilled, commenting: “We are absolutely delighted for these students! They are a very bright bunch. Almost 80% of their examinations are at the most prized A*-B grades which is simply incredible, and to have smashed ten year records at the blue-riband A*/A pass level, with 48% of their grades at the A*/A level, is genuinely breathtaking. This has meant one in every five students has secured straight A*/A grades, which is again quite brilliant. We are so proud of them!”
Mr Getty added: “The lovely thing is that successes are everywhere, in all subjects, no matter where you look. In Mathematics 81% of all grades were at A*-B, in English it was 86%, in Politics it was 89%, in Physics it was 91%, whilst in Art, Drama and Geography it was 100%! The students deserve so much praise and now depart to study at the most prestigious universities across the country from Oxbridge to Russell Group and beyond, and on a hugely diverse range of courses, from Medicine to Mathematics, Law to Economics, from Accountancy to Zoology! It is a lovely day of celebration when our wonderful students’ hard work is really rewarded.”
These record-breaking results arrive as NULS continues to receive national acclaim, arriving closely on the heels of the school being awarded the accolade ‘Best UK Independent School’ last year in the national Independent Education Awards, an outstanding performance in The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2026 and being graded as Staffordshire’s best value for money Independent School by The Daily Telegraph in recent weeks.
