Students at Newcastle-under-Lyme School were celebrating as their A Level results smashed decade old records, with an outstanding 81% of all results at the prized A*-B grades! Headmaster, Michael Getty, was thrilled, commenting: “We are absolutely delighted for these students! This cohort’s absolutely superb results have beaten records that have stood for well over a decade. To have this cohort reach these prized grades in such epic numbers is really quite breathtaking and so very well deserved!”
Mr Getty added: “The lovely thing is that successes are everywhere, no matter where you look. In History 81% of all grades were at A*-B, in Chemistry 84%, in Economics 89%, in Mathematics and English Literature it was over 90%! The students deserve so much praise and now depart to study at the most prestigious universities in the country on a hugely diverse range of courses, from Medicine to Mathematics, from Economics to Engineering, from Architecture to Accountancy! It is a lovely day of celebration when our wonderful students’ hard work is really rewarded.”
These record breaking results arrive closely on the heels of the school being awarded the enormously prestigious accolade of ‘Best UK Independent School, 2025’ in the national Independent Education Awards, presented in July. This is the first time a school in our region has been awarded this national title, rounding off an exceptional year for the school.
