Twelve Top Grade Triumphs break records!
As students at Newcastle Under Lyme School celebrated record breaking A Levels, twelve students had particularly good news to celebrate! As the award-winning school witnessed its top grades climb, a dozen students secured the enormously rare and much prized clean sweep of A*/A grades.
Headmaster, Michael Getty, was delighted stating ‘These students have done so well. Securing straight A*/A grades at A level is no easy feat. They have achieved these incredible grades whilst studying a hugely diverse range of A level courses too, from English to Mathematics, from Sciences to Spanish, which is also nice to see. The sixth formers top grade successes have taken our breath away this year, and broken ten year old records, with 48% of grades at the prestigious A*/A level and almost 80% at A*-B! This has meant that one in every five students has achieved this rare ‘clean sweep’ of A*/A grades, which is quite remarkable. They have such bright futures ahead of them.’
These record-breaking results arrive as NULS continues to receive national acclaim, arriving closely on the heels of the school being awarded the accolade “Best UK Independent School” last year in the national Independent Education Awards, and being graded as Staffordshire’s best value for money Independent School by The Daily Telegraph in recent weeks.
